POP Bandage

The POP bandage, also known as Plaster of Paris bandage, is a medical bandage made by combining a cotton bandage with plaster of paris.

Product Description
Sizes: 5/7.5/10/15/20cm*2.7m/4.5m
Weight: 370g/m2

Material Composition: The bandage is made from a gauze fabric, often a plain weave, impregnated with Plaster of Paris (calcium sulfate hemihydrate). Upon immersion in water, the Plaster of Paris is activated.

Application: Once wet, the bandage is applied to the desired area of the body. As it dries, it hardens, forming a rigid structure that is used to immobilize broken bones or other injuries to facilitate healing.

Setting Time: POP bandages are known for their relatively fast setting time, which can vary from a few minutes to about 10-15 minutes, depending on the specific product and conditions of use.

Features: The resulting hard and rigid structure is both porous and absorbent, allowing the skin to breathe while being immobilized. This rigidity is crucial for the proper healing of fractures by keeping the affected area stable.

Uses: POP bandages are primarily used to make casts for immobilization following fractures, after surgery, or for orthopedic corrections. They aid the healing process by providing strong support and stabilization.
